REVIEW: |
On Volume Four we
find sequences coming
from the special show that Ronnie Wood held at the Town Hall in New York City. In
this special event he did everything on his own talking about music, playing
live and answering to questions from the audience. On this compilation just the
essential musical parts are kept, all tracks have been edited, de-clicked,
amplified and some flaws (coming from the recording) deleted. On Disc One, Track
1 Ron Wood plays harmonica along a video of him playing guitar, some vocals and
his father Arthur Wood on vocals and harmonica) filmed at Ronnie’s rented house on August 21, 1982 (see
Vol 02); on Track Ron Wood sings and plays pedal steel along to the Rolling
Stones promotional video, on Track 5 Ron Wood on bass (between both segments 30
seconds have been deleted), on Track 6 Ron Wood accompanies on bass a
promotional video (with a 15 second patch coming from
another source), on Track 12 Ron Wood plays some guitar notes and a riff at the
beginning of an extract of the Checkerboard Lounge video featuring The Rolling
Stones, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells
On Disc Two are the versions used on
the great reworked video which will also be presented separately. These merges were built
with the video rip on the right side (see Disc One) and on the left side with a
version posted by a fan (‘K’) years ago! On Track 12 both recordings are
incomplete but the gap is not at the same time: it was tried to rebuild it: now
they are merged until 3’41 then 15 seconds solely from the audio source and the
end solely from the video source. Track 18 (combined and merged version) it
starts with the audio version: the warm-up and the beginning of the song then
the merge begins at 1’05, running until the end. At 2’11 a short patch was used
to paste the gap from the video source.
