This product presents a rough soundboard of the first show in Essen by Billy Preston and the God Squad, an ensemble the warmed up the crowd before the Rolling Stones concerts during the European Tour in 1973. Mick Taylor, as highlighted on front cover, plays alongside the Billy Preston band members on any song. A live recording came out on Live European Tour on vinyl in 1974 and in 2002 on compact in Japan with same set list but different sources for the tracks. Just last year ago a remastered version came out in Japan offering both same and different versions of most of the songs, coupling different concerts. This is the first boot to come out with this recordings that allegedly are taken just from the 9^th October concert, showing the same set list as the released album with addition of “That s The Way God Planned It” strangely missing on the official vinyl release. What is different here is certainly the mix that places Taylor s nasty lead guitar upfront (on “Let s Go Get Stoned” he was inaudible on the official release, but very evident here).
