REVIEW:

This Chuck Berry compilation presents three concerts: London 72 rebroadcast by BBC 4 last year, the famous BBC broadcast that features "My Ding-A-Ling", arguably Berry's last hit single, with the audience chanting along with the sexually oriented song that hit the top charts in UK in 1972. Berry is backed by Rockin' Horse, a nice band that follows his changes and chase the rhythm on stage when the man runs into his usual sequence of hit records. Color video with stereo soundtrack is featured here and the same goes for the following show: the Mike Douglas show featuring John Lennon and Yoko Ono, who start the show with an embarrassing Yoko song, sung with John Lennon on acoustic guitar; and then, after an interview of the Lennons, and a video from Imagine film comes the jam session with Berry backed by Lennon and band. "Maybelline" is sung together by Lennon and Berry, while "Johnny B.Goode" features Berry on lead vocals. This is the first ever meeting of the two men and is caught on tape, both playing together and being interviewed on the Mike Douglas show. 1964's That Was Rock is a 1982 film that featured both TAMI and TNT Shows preceded by a new introduction by Chuck Berry. The TAMI Show features different camera angles and the shots taken from behind the band are great, showing Santa Monica Civic Auditorium going mad especially when Jagger gets to the crowd shakin' his maraccas. There is rumor of an officially released DVD of this show coming soon with rehearsals, till then this DVD serves as a great reminder of times gone.
