REVIEW:

This newly release presents a great find   from the New Barbarians, a band that was put up in the late 70s and consisted of Ron Wood and Keith Richards plus a number of friends among which Ian McLagan, Stanley Clarke, Joseph Ziggy Modeliste, Bobby Ketys etc. Few people remember that early on Boz Scaggs and Neil Young rehearsed with the New Barbarians and could have been part of the shows, had things be different. Anyway this release presents a concert recording from Detroit, the second show from the Cobo Arena on April 28, 1979 from a JEMS audience master that was recently placed on a torrent. Obviously the evaluation is the average between the 2 recorded concerts.
It is a collector s item that presents all the songs of that day captured in good quality, however it is from Rock Me Baby onwards that the recording quality improves. In addition some tracks from the 19th Ma-Los Angeles performance in soundboard quality that make this release a very nice one, Billy Preston came on stage as guest on 5 tracks at the end of this show.
