REVIEW: |
The New
Barbarians went south, being unavailable the Atlanta recording we get to Texas with
this recording coming from the Houston concert, of which two sources exist: one
can be found on Feel Their Fire At The Summit (MC 131) but is lossy; the other
one taped by mystical crow can be found on Houston 1979 (DTS 032-033) and was
posted on Dime as A Night Time Slicker. This has a better sound and is lossless
so it’s the one found here. Some micro-gaps and at times annoying noises
between the tracks have been deleted. The overall sound has been boosted, the
channels rebalanced and the transitions between tracks reworked. In fact this
is the best audience recording of this tour so far, with all instruments and
vocals audible, including the piano despite some echo.
