REVIEW:

C'mon kids, let's go back to 1978 for a kickass evening with the First Ladies of Rock'n'Roll -- The Runaways!

This was their first time out without front lady Cherie Currie (and bassist Jackie Fox), and despite Cherie's absence, the girls hold up fine and do rock quite hard, thank you.  Joan Jett takes front and center as the lead lady and assumes the role with a take-no-prisoners attitude.  Let's all remember that Lita Ford was still handling the lead axe duties and she continues to flaunt all her power chords here.  New bassist Vicki Blue displays as many chops as Jackie ever did.  Even drummer Sandy West gets to vocalize on a killer "Wild Thing".  They charge through cuts off all three records, including their current release at the time, Waitin' For The Night.  "Queens Of Noise" and "You're Too Possessive" are particularly explosive.

You should know what you're getting here as there's no time for bullshit ballads, just red hot r'n'r served up by four young lasses.  Ahhh... I pine for the old days of simple flat out rock'n'roll with no frills.  The greatest chick band ever delivers the goods!  Queens Of Noise, indeed.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
