REVIEW:
This product presents Rod Stewart gig in Hyde Park, London in late June of this year to commemorate the 40th year of the Hard Rock Calling gathering. He is joined on stage by Stevie Nicks and her supporting band on "Young Turks" that have their own spot as well and by old pal Ron Wood on two songs; some parts of the show where broadcasted by Sky Arts in UK and the audience source is then replaced by the broadcasted versions; anyway the audience source is pretty good although a bit shaky at times. Flanked by many girls (two blonde sax players, a brunette violinist that plays mandolin too and three more black dancers) Rod Stewart performs his usual string of hits with his polished band behind him (even the drummer has a suit and tie); unfortunately from "Young Turks" on his voice deteriorates and causes problems on low notes, the singer happy to leave the audience sing along the tunes (notably "Maggie May", "You re In My Heart" and "I Don't Want To Talk About It"). The concert goes on anyway and the appearance of Ron Wood creates the right disturbance and brings some life to the show. The audience appreciates the performance and there is even a Stewart lookalike in the crowd, occasionally filmed. Highlight is certainly "Sailing", a song that has left its mark on British conscience (adopted at the time of the Falklands war) that is sung along by the whole crowd. At the end there are three tracks from Stevie Nicks and band (featuring Waddy Wachtel) that were broadcasted by Sky Arts too.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
