REVIEW:

This final volume combines 2 shows which circulated with the consideration that Ron Wood was present on the recordings, however a close and attentive listening suggests that no guitar note can be attributed to him! So either Ronnie was not present that evening, or he did not play on the recorded tracks. Since these shows usually circulated with the others used in this series and because some time was spent checking and arranging them, it was decided to post them anyway in this additional volume.
On Disc One just Johnny Copeland (who was Shemekia s father) is the only known musician, he played guitar and sang, presenting his trademark Texas blues licks accompanied by many trusted fellow musicians. This recording is quite good and enjoyable, too bad Ron Wood didn t join him on stage this time.

On Disc Two the line-up is Ray Charles on vocals and piano and The Raelets on backing vocals plus other unknown musicians; this is a good recording too, but the music played is quite distant from Ron Wood style and there is no surprise he did not take part to it on stage.
All available versions were coming from the same recording, so it was just a matter of amplifying the volume and reworking songs transitions.

Missing shows from Woody s on the Beach: 19 Dec.87 (Bo Diddley), 7&8 Jan, 88 (Mick Taylor), 10 Jan.88 (Spice Roots), 13 Jan.88 (Billy Preston), 15 Jan. 88 (Big Bang), 12 Feb.88 (Gypsy Queen),   31 March-1 April 88 (Buddy Guy), 6 April 88 (Ron Wood Orchestra), 7 Sept.88 (Clarence Gatemouth Brown), 29 Sept.88 (James Cotton), 2 Nov.88 (Ray Charles), 8/9 Nov.88 (Jerry Lee Lewis with D.Bowie in the audience the 2nd night), 23 Nov.88 (Fishbone) 25&26 Jan.89 (Don Covay), 3 Feb.89 (Nuclear Valdez & Jane s Addiction), 31 March 89 (Melissa Etheridge).

It is unknown if Ron Wood recorded the shows that were hosted in his club, they would be a nice collection of live recordings, possibly on demand, a small music who s who for the late 80s that could certainly arise interest in music collectors and solve the unanswered questions about them we have today, let s just hope that someday….
