REVIEW: |
Number 9 volume
of the series presents Jerry Lee Lewis
guesting, here the line-up was: Ron Wood on guitar, Jerry Lee Lewis on vocals
and piano, Bobby Keys on sax & other players.
Here the version selected was the only recording without the right channel
damaged. He volume was amplified, re-balanced (+10% to the right) and corrected
a 0,001s time lag between both channels. The transition between the tracks has
been reworked, now each track starts with a song.
Some noises were deleted at 7s into Shake, Rattle & Roll and at 1’27 in
Great Balls Of Fire.
A little segment at 5’07 in Little Queenie was amplified; the end of the medley
Break-Up/Hound Dog had the right channel damaged, so the left channel was
duplicated in order to restore it with a 27seconds mono patch. Note that some
running tape noises remain at the start of the show and at the start of Walk A
Mile In My Shoes but anyway this is a good improvement from previous
circulating recordings. This is an enjoyable recording with very few audience
screams that allow us to better dig the musical content in remarkably clear shape.
