REVIEW:

This tenth volume of this series focused on Ron Wood club recordings has Willie Dixon as the main evening guest, with this line-up: Ron Wood on guitar, Wille Dixon on vocals, Bobby Keys on sax & possibly Carey Bell on harmonica, Dennis Miller on guitar, Darren Darnell on drums, Michael Morrison  on bass and unknown organ and piano player, possibly Lafayette Leake who played on Willie Dixon Grammy Award 1988 album Hidden Charms.

There were two versions of the same recording, but the recorder had big problems: the right channel was damaged (empty or with big noises) from 1’30 in the first track, then in the 2nd, 3rd tracks and from time to time in the two last tracks.   The other version has been partially restored but still had damaged segments that spoil listening pleasure. So a mixed version was created, deleting more flaws, the left channel was duplicated so the restored parts are in mono.
Because of the short duration of the recording, it was decided to do two versions here.
The first one only in mono (just the left channel duplicated) without those noise problems.
The second is a mix from the good stereo parts, patched with mono parts, where necessary. Note that Wang Dang Doodle was cut in two parts so it has been rebuilt, however a little gap remained at 5’16.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
