Volume 8 documents the Chicago concert, f or this show there were two transfers coming from the same source. The first one only had one channel duplicated; the second one was called The New Barbarians Meet Junior Wells and had a different left channel but with poor sound. It was chosen to keep this version, boosting the left channel (+40 to 70%) and synchronizing both channels. To be in synch with the official release (Largo) this recording had to be decelerated by -5%. A little sequence repeated between Honky Tonk Women and the band introduction was deleted.The overall sound was amplified and the transitions between tracks reworked. Note that the first seconds of Breathe On Me are lost and that a gap remained in Before They Make Me Run… both probably due to tape flips. Unfortunately, this recording is not that god, although listenable and that is a pity due to Junior Wells guesting on 2 blues tracks; this makes this concert unique and longer than most other ones. However, the sound improves from Am I Grooving You onwards.
