REVIEW: |
Volume Ten of this series presents the 2nd show at the Lone
Star Café in New York from March 1989.
For this show two recordings were already
circulating coming from the same source. The Maidenlane recording is interesting
and is a good alternate recording to the already circulated ones. As usual the
tracks were edited, de-clicked and the recording amplified, with both channels rebalanced
(+20% to +30% for the left channel)
and the speed corrected (decelerated by -3,1%).
Note a tape
flip after Red House but no music is lost and another one before Can’t You Hear
Me Knocking where the first seconds are lost. The taper’s position was probably
identical, in fact the sound I even slightly better that the 1st show
recording, Taylor laying is superb. This show is also particular dye to the
song Downtown Broadway which has been rarely played live but was recorded in
the studio (it can be found on Special, Taylor’s unreleased solo album).
