Volume Five of this series presents another recording from the Lone Star Café in New York, this time from 1988. Here the l ine-up was Mick Taylor on guitar and vocals, Max Middleton on keyboards, Shane Fontayne on guitar, Wilbur Bascomb on bass and Denny McDermott on drums.

This recording by Maidenlane is interesting because is an alternate source from the one that was already circulating. The songs are now edited, the recording de-clicked and amplified; there’s a gap at the end of Blind Willie McTell. This is an exceptional recording with Taylor’s guitar clear and upfront, a joy for fans and collectors.
