Volume Eight of this series presents the 1988 New Haven show.
Maidenlane recording is interesting and
is a good alternate recording to the already circulated one. It only is missing
a part of the tuning and a short passage in the banter after Red House that’s
why it was chosen as separation point between the two discs. There’s also a
short gap before Blind Willie McTell but no music is lost.
As usual all
tracks were edited, the recording de-clicked and amplified and both channels
rebalanced
as well as the speed improved (decelerated by -4,3%). This is a good
recording, although not as brilliant as the previous ones, however here we get
a 20 minutes version of Can’t You Hear Me Knocking. The performance too is not
one of the best.
