REVIEW:

Bill Wyman, contrary to another former Stones member, has put up his own band and has a considerable output of original releases both live and in the studio with his Rhythm Kings while bootleggers have released some of his concerts but not many. This DVD offers the Belgrade 2005 concert, one of the first gig by a Western band in Serbian capital city.  Rhythm Kings particular brand of music is like an encyclopaedia of popular music: Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Rock and Roll, Jazz, Cajun and Rockabilly are jammed together and what comes out is a nice representation of 20th Century good time music. This concert is very well filmed despite being an audience recording both video and audio are highly satisfactory due to the taper position, right in front of the stage in the first rows. Camera goes on each member of the band and especially on Bill Wyman of course but also Beverly Skeete and guitarists Albert Lee and Andy Fairweather-Low. There is also a guest spot from Eddy Floyd that sings on soul hymns "Soul Man" and "6345789" at the beginning of the set and comes back for "Raise Your Hand" and "Knock On Wood" at the end. Chris Stainton plays keyboards and has a nice solo during "Muleskinner Blues" while bandleader Bill Wyman sings "All Night Long" and a Chuck Berry number "You Never Can Tell". At the end of the show the crowd starts singing "Satisfaction" and Wyman plays some bass lines but then follows an anticlimax encore like "I Put A Spell On You" , followed by a proper encore "Tear It Up', a piece de resistance for Albert Lee virtuosity, ending the show. There is also as a bonus an 8 minutes after show footage showing members signing autographs.
