The review
The Rhythm Kings stop in Chicago is documented on Volume 5 of this series, unfortunately a ll versions came from the same lossy recording; the version used was the best one though because the other versions had digital noises in several tracks but due to cd-rot on Disc Two the 3 last tracks were impossible to be ripped, therefore for these ones the other versions were used after having deleted most of the noises… however some of these ‘buggers’ can still be heard, in particular in the band introduction. As usual microgaps between the tracks were deleted. Note that Hit The Road Jack and Melody are incomplete, the former fading out and the latter fading in. The setlist is the basic one for this tour, before Breakin’ Up The House Gary Brooker reads an alleged Bill Clinton message where he said: ‘ Wish I was still a President, I could have played sax with you’. The sound output is good despite the source being lossy, so this s an enjoyable recording.
