The review

This FM broadcast has long been one of the most popular early Trick shows. It finds the band performing before an appreciative hometown audience and showcasing material from the first two albums not long before the group would make its epochal trip to Japan to play the Budokan. The material has also been the source of several boots, both LP and CD, over the years.

Note that the show’s final song, “Goodnight” (a reprise of show opener “Hello There”), has been inexplicably deleted from this boot. Soundwise, it’s not the greatest FM broadcast ever, with too much compression and flattening out of the high end giving it a slightly lifeless (almost soundboard-like) feel in places. That said, it’s an undeniably spirited performance and well-worth hearing. --OSWALD
