The review

This is a pirate release from Ganja.  Over The Rainbow is taken from what seems to be a laserdisc version of the official "Bob Marley And The Wailers Live" video, released in 1991.

Those specifics aside, this is an awesome piece to have transferred to DVD.  This title is absolutely perfect in every way.  Professionally filmed and mixed for home entertainment purposes, the crew captured a brilliant and inspired performance from the then, new, Wailers line-up.  Ganja had a no-brainer production effort in this one!  While this video hasn't been released officially on DVD, it IS still in print and available on VHS which makes this a funky matter.

The exact date of this concert is unconfirmed though it was early in the Summer of '77, on the heels of the Exodus LP release.

Again, this is the post-Bunny Wailer/Peter Tosh line-up with the late Carlton Barrett on drums, Junior Marvin on Lead Guitar, "Familyman" on Bass and, of course, the I-three's on back-up vocals...Rita Marley(Bob's wife), Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths.  The musicianship between the Wailers and Marley's startlingly charismatic "channeling" of his performance is really something to watch.  A great concert, a great video and...grey area or not, superb DVD.  Too bad we don't have something comparible from '75!
