The second
volume of this series covers the band’s Marquee Club appearance, few weeks
after Windsor, here the l
ine-up
was the same but for Mickey Waller on drums.
This show
appeared on several bootlegs: The Oldest Lost Tape (Scarecrow 010), Stone Cold
Crazy (93 JB 018), All Shook Up (VRM 006-7) Beck To The Future (6702-A/B): all
were taken from the same recording. The version used here is coming from Beck
To The Future because the sound was already reworked, lots of defaults deleted
and it was not as hissy as the original tapes which appeared on The Oldest Lost
Tape. In the first release of this show Beck To The Future was decelerated by
-4% but comparing with others versions for example Jeff’s Boogie this was a
mistake; conversely, it had to be accelerated by +1%. Note that the tracks are
often edited. On all the versions a second version of I Can’t Hold Out is added
and wrongly titled Dust My Broom (on The Oldest Lost Tape) maybe they had to
play it as an encore twice because they ran out of songs? It was compared – it
is definitely not from any other circulating show. This track had to be
accelerated by +6,5%. Luckily this recording features the whole concert and in
a very good shape too.
On August
of this year this recording re-surfaced with new notes by
Goody's who Speed/Pitch-adjusted this
remaster:
“All tracks
have been properly tuned in Audition - each track in the previous edition was
found to be off by a different amount, ranging between approximately 12 cents
flat to as much as 33 cents sharp for the actual show and the phantom extra
track 11 (which I highly doubt was played at this show) was approximately 55
cents sharp.
I've
adjusted azimuth and phase as well as averaging the channels to make them the
true double-mono stereo tracks that they have proven always to have been. By
doing so, it brought together the various frequencies of the source that jumped
around randomly from channel to channel which may have given the false
impression that this was ever stereo. It strengthened the presentation quite a
bit now, especially when listening through headphones”. Note that this version
is 30 seconds longer than before and as far as sound output it certainly sounds
better.
