The review

This is not the tape that was released legimiately (twice and then almost immediately recalled twice, once in 1971 and once in 2000!) as the LP "Live Yardbirds Featuring Jimmy Page."  This is an audience recording of the very same show however, which is significantly more difficult to listen to than the commercial LP, which wasn't that great to begin with.  On this audience tape, however, we do get a couple of extras not available on that disc: partial soundcheck versions of Train Kept a Rollin and Dazed and Confused.  All of the tracks are loud, with Jimmy Page's guitar to the fore, with probably the most bludgeoning version of Heart Full of Soul ever laid down.  The acoustic "White Summer" is not nearly as distorted.  Starting and stopping of the reel-to-reel tape is quite evident throughout the recording.  A great performance worth having for psychedlia fans and Led Zeppelin lovers with the early "Dazed and Confused," but all others should try and find the commercially released CD of this show, if possible.
