REVIEW: |
For this concert there were 2 versions circulating, all coming from the
same recording: one was quite complete but lossy and the other was lossless but
incomplete. It was decided to present both in two separate volumes, however this
review is of the
lossy version: here the tracks were separated by
2 seconds gaps with (in the last tracks) little repetitions between them:
they’re now corrected (except for the one at the end of A Natural Woman) and
reconnected. At the end of Jeff’s Boogie there was a 20 seconds gap that has
now been patched with a patch coming from the lossless version (from 6’02 to
6’22) so that this recording is now complete.
Also, the recording has been de-clicked and both channels rebalanced (+20%
to the left channel). Note that both channels are inverted in both versions. This
version had to be accelerated by +3% comparing to the other shows and the
lossless version. The Detroit show came out on Heart Crazy (Scarecrow 037),
Believes Superstition (Breakdown 358). This recording present finally a
document of the concert that has no distorted bass, hence the best one so far;
it must have been stereo originally, at the end of Jeff’s Boogie in fact the
recording s stereo, but returns soon in mono, probably due to channel imbalance.
