REVIEW: |
Here is
another first timer recording, the opening gig of the 11th Faces US
Tour which happened in Rochester,
New York on February 11th
1975. This is
a master audience
recording that shows a great performance from the whole band at the War
Memorial Auditorium; this recording presents the whole concert starting with
the long introduction that was customary for the 1975 Faces shows.
The
beginning of the recording is quite distorted as far as music is concerned
while Rod Stewart is clearly discernable. The sound output improves from Sweet
Little Rock n Roller onwards; this concert features also songs from individual
members of the Faces solo albums, like
Take A Look At The Guy from Ron Wood s I ve Got My Own Album To Do and
Mine For Me a Paul and Linda Mc Cartney song that Rod Stewart recorded on
Smiler that when it was released as a single became a minor hit in the USA, let
alone Every Picture Tells A Story. This is the first time this show appears on
a boot and, apart from the rough beginning this is certainly a nice discovery.
