The Expensive Winos 1993 North American Tour lasted 5 weeks and its fourth stop happened at Los Angeles Universal Theatre; this concert was duly recorded by Mike Millard and is documented in this release by Empress Valley which presents an excellent recording. A different recording had appeared at first as Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles on an incomplete cdr, then some years later on a 2 cdr set and last July on Dime this same recording by JEMS. It is said to come from a DAT recording and came out as Live in LA ’93 (Jems Archive). The label calls it Master Recording, so this is allegedly a first copy off the transfer and in fact the sound is excellent and consistent throughout the show. Packaging is nice with great front cover shot, the only inappropriate thing being a  promo paper inside it with a Jimmy Page photo and the writing “All road to Zep is paved in Empress Valley”; no Keith Richards  or Stones fan/collector would really care about that!
