The
1st Chicago stop of the Winos 1988 US Tour is here documented; all
versions were identical, the main
one called Talk Is Cheap Chicago; unfortunately, this recording is the worst of
the series: the sound in the first tracks of Disc Two is terrible sounding like
it was recorded in an aquarium (maker original comment); that is a real pity since the remaining tracks of Disc Two are in excellent sound. The channels have been
rebalanced (+40% or +50% for the right channel) and phased. There were the same
digital problems on all versions, fortunately punctual and easy to correct.
Digital gaps have been deleted on: Take It So Hard at 1’27, 2’21 and 3’15, Big Enough
at 2’22 and 3’16 and then digital noises in: Before They Make Me Run’ at 3’21, You
Don’t Move Me at 0’42, 1’14 and 3’02, Make No Mistake at 1’45, 1’48, 1’49,
1’51, 2’03, 4’36, 6’01, 6’03, 6’04 and 6’17, Time Is On My Side at 0’08, 0’27, 0’43,
0’45, 3’51, 4’11, 4’12, 4’13 and 4’19, Happy at 5’33, 5’37 and 5’39.
Note
that there is a fade out at the end of Time Is On My Side and It Means A Lot, consequentlty
some seconds have been lost.
