REVIEW: |
The second
volume in this series consists of a concert whose line-up was: Ron Wood on guitar
and vocals, Ian McLagan
on keyboards and
vocals, Bobby Keys on sax, Johnnie Lee Schell on guitar and vocals, Will
McGregor on bass and Mike Fink on drums. It is probably the closest thing to
the New Barbarians despite Keith Richards absence; this is a well known show of
which a soundboard recording was made and already circulated on Countdown To
Midnight 2 cdr (Coast2Coast C2C-007). The show relies on Ron Wood songs but
also featured are classics tracks and some tunes that were released on Ian
McLagan Troublemaker album, notable being Truly with its great catchy riffs.
To make this
version a little bit more interesting the channels were duplicated in order to
get more density in the sound and as usual the transitions between the songs were
reworked however leaving the original fade ins and outs.
Note that some tracks are incomplete: Carol, Crackin Up miss their beginning
and Take A Look At The Guy and Ooh La La their end.
