The review
Alvin Lee and Mick Taylor's Euro tour opened in Italy on the 26th of October in Torino and this recording presents the following show that happened in Firenze. A recording of the concert was available and actually released on Live in Firenze by Slay Dog Records on a single disc lacking the last number: it was called soundboard but it is actually same as this: an excellent audience recording. The line up has Alvin Lee with Mick Taylor on guitar alongside Calvin Fuzzy Samuels on bass and Tom Compton on drums. One of the best songs is Sonny Boy Williamson "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" that follows and features great guitar solo in the middle and ending; Taylor comes on stage on "Going Through The Door" introduced by Lee. Disc Two starts with a 1\7 minutes version of "Going Home" Alvin Lee warhorse since Woodstock days, the concert ends with a great version of "Choo Choo Mama" a short boogie in usual Lee style.
Included in this release is the well known soundboard recording from Kiel added most likely to fill up the rest of Disc Two. Packaging is quite good except for some mistakes on back cover line up that has a Mick Taylor fetured on bass instead of Calvin Samuels and an additional guitarist (Steve Gould) who wasn't there at all.
