The review
This release presents some outtakes from the album Oh Mercy by Bob Dylan, the basic sources was the bootleg Deeds Of Mercy (Razor’s Edge RAZ 002- OMR 010), since Ring Them Bells (Moonlight 9635) and Mercy On Us (Godfather Records 136) were already remastered, while Deeds Of Mercy was the closest one to the original, raw files.
As usual in reworked files they have been speed-pitch, phase and level corrected with some gentle EQ. It seems this is the first time those outtakes run at correct speed, at least considering commercial bootlegs; as usual, no compression, limiting or noise reduction was done here. In fact, the sound output is excellent and there is no hint of any of the hiss that marred previous releases of these takes. Packaging is nice with artwork that reminds the original album fonts although there is a slight mistake, since there should be no question mark on the song title What Good Am I.
