REVIEW: |
Here we
have again another BBC compilation full of broadcasts featuring tracks heard
before, in fact this is a copy for most part of Dr.Stone effort previously
reviewed here, that collects all the surviving TV and radio sessions from this
era in the best possible quality, newly restored and mastered by former
professional technician Dr.Stone. Ending that review we wrote: “This is a
marvellous job that will soon be copied by some label” and this is the result;
however, there are also some different tracks, the ones we want to consider are
Tracks 10 and 11 of Disc One. They are stated to come from Saturday Club on 8
March 1964 because on the original vinyl bootleg so was written. The thing is
that no Saturday Club broadcast was aired on March 8, 1964 (one was aired on
March 7th not featuring the Stones) but there was one from February
8th 1964 that featured the Stones, allegedly from the first live gig
of their 3rd British Tour in Edmonton at the Regal Theatre and from
here these 2 tracks most likely come, the 2nd one has Brian Matthews
introducing the band live.
