REVIEW:

This box presents the American Tour the Stones had to postpone twice and finally set out to do without their former drummer Charlie Watts here replaced by Wino’s Steve Jordan. St.Louis was the first concert, a recording of this concert came out called Here’s To You, Charlie (Goldplate 2101CD) which also featured a DVD, soon remastered by Cpt. Acid on St. Louis 2021, which is what we have here. There has also been St. Louis 2021 a 2cd Japan no label set

I have no intention to enter the drumming debate, I will just state that the sound is different, more energetic but at the same time lacking that jazz feel Charlie was a master of, this can be felt on the slower songs, even on Living In A Ghost Town when time keeping at times becomes too obtrusive. Regardless of that this recording is excellent, as all instruments are clearly heard and both channels are of the same output quality. The Charlotte concert seems to have not appeared before on any bootleg except for Have Fun Charlotte (MFG-139) a blu ray disc that showed the show in a multicamera video made from YouTube taken from audience source. Soundwise the songs are not that bad despite their source, the funny thing is that in between tracks parts are all in mono, but the music is in stereo. Another recording taken from a blu ray release is Pittsburgh taken from the soundtrack of That’s It For Pitt (MFG -140), this being another nice recording. The Nashville was released in Japan on a no label set just called Nashville 2021, then on a no label release called Nashville 2021 and on a combo that featured a DVD too called No Filter US Tour 2021 Live at Nissan Stadium Nashville (Exile EXCDR-NFTf20211009ABC); there is also No Filter 2021 in Nashville, a 2cdr from Japan and No Filter US Tour 2021 Nashville (Exile EXCDRNF20211009ABC) with a DVD-R, this is anyway a great recording with almost no audience interferences. The first show in Los Angeles gas a different setlist from the opening Let’s Spend the Night Together to the inclusion of Rocks Off, Get Off Of My Cloud and Ruby Tuesday that makes this one of the longest in this tour. This concert was documented on a 2cdr called Los Angeles 14-10-21 taken from the pit and remastered by Cpt. Acid which is the one showed here that was soon followed by another set called Los Angeles, Ca October 14, 2021; in Japan came out a no lael set called Los Angeles 2021 1st Night and another called Inglewood 2021 1st Night as well as on No Filter Tour 221 Live in Sofi Stadium (Exile EXCDR NFT20211014ABC) with an accompanying DVD-r. This is a nice recording that has some surprises beside the setlist, one of them being the gospel ending of You Can’t Always Get What You Want which Jagger remarks thanking the Inglewood Singers.

The second concert in Los Angeles is to be found on another 2 cdr set called Los Angeles, Ca October 17, 2021 and on a no label 2 disc called Los Angeles 2021 2nd Night; there is also a 2cd+DVD set called Mo Filter Tour 2021 Los Angeles no.2 (Exile EXCDR-NF20211017ABC); this is a good recording too, midway in the show Jagger reminds the audience that to this very day he and Keith met at the train station exactly sixty years ago.

Minneapolis instead was only available on a blu ray disc called Purple Twins (MFG-142) that collects YT videos, with the sound quality inferior with regards to the other ones; luckily this time there are no interruptions thanks to the video maker, but in mono. Two new songs fir this tour here Monkey Man and Fool To Cry. There is however an unexplainable boost in the sound volume at 7.18 into Satisfaction. Apart from that the overall sound quality of this set is good and since it seems theonly release to have all the band’s concert on silver it can be considered a good one.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
