REVIEW:

This new release from Rattlesnake has caused many eyebrows raisings and lots of complaints, mostly coming from the fact it has been advertised as a soundboard recording, while it is an audience one. However nowhere on the cover or into the booklet which describes it such a word can be located, the closest being when it says that these tracks were recorded and mixed officially by the band(end of quote), which can also mean that the same selection of tracks were recorded and mixed by the band, however these versions are not the same ones. Obviously despite what is advertised on the cover or inside the booklet Rattlesnake played on this, suggesting these were real soundboard tracks, hence the anger from the community of Stones collectors after the discovery they were not; undoubtedly this has damages the label s reputation whose daring attitude has caused a great loss of credibility, we ll see if it will be retained in the future. The title comes from Jagger s introduction of Some Girls, a song that was performed in front of many ex wives and girfriends that were watcing the concert from the balconies.

Shepherd s Bush was released as Cow Skins and Pig Shoes (Dandelion 117-8), Don t Bust the Crust (Morph 11), Secret Affair (VGP 225) in 2 versions, Shepherd s Bush Empire (SODD 002-3), Sweet Home London (C.Cat 493-5) with Melody cut. This track is on Black and Blue Real Alternate Album   RTR 021), Moon is Over Shepherds Bush (S.Hole Rec.), Live at Shepherds Bush Empire (RSTSB Part 1/2) , Shepherd s Delight (Another Hanging Dog cd) and Cow Skins and Pig Shoes (Phoenix D356487) which claimed to be a soundboard and   Live at the Bush (no credits). Lately the whole evening s recording came out as part of the 14 cds included in Bridges to Babylon A Slight Return (WLR –BTR 31) . This is a nice audience recording, but it is not the best possible one, in fact there is annoying distortion of the bottom end that can be felt when listened very loud.
