REVIEW: |
This series
is dedicated to the concerts that Ron Wood played at his Miami night club Woody s On The Beach where
he often jammed with other musicians and guests. The line-up here is: Ron Wood on
guitar
and vocals, Bo Diddley on guitar,
vocals and drums, Jim Satten on guitar, Debbie Hastings on bass and backing vocals
Mike Fink on drums, Hal Goldstein on keyboards, backing vocals and harmonica.
This first show was not widely circulating, at least not in a lossless complete
version.
The first 15 seconds were a little saturated so volume was lowered for
listening pleasure, Ron Wood plays from Crackin Up onwards. Overall the volume
was amplified a little bit (+2db) and channel re-balanced (+ 10% for the right
one). Little gaps have been deleted and defaults between the tracks with the
transitions reworked: now each track begins with a song.
The biggest problem was on
Who Do You
Love?
which was cut in 4 segments, with
one segment repeated and containing microphone noises on the right channel at
5’23 (note that this segment was non present in the lossy version). Now the
song is complete and restored, the default segment was replaced by a 3 seconds
patch where just the left channel was duplicated. This is an interesting concert that was actually part of the Gunslingers East coast Tour that began in November 87, the Diddley Wood collaboration produced the Live at the Ritz album
and many other shows in USA,
Europe and Japan.
The sound output is not phenomenal despite the efforts made in reworking the
original tapes, but still quite enjoyable a new delicacy for rock fans from all
corners of the globe.
