This release from Uxbridge is a longer version of what has already been reviewed here lately. This is said to come from the master tapes in a low generation copy said to come straight from the session’s sound engineer. On Disc One we find County Jail which features Georgie Fame on keyboards. The audio fidelity is exceptional with extreme stereo separation, except on Disc One which is almost all in mono featuring rough mixes, Ron Wood is said to play electric sitar on Carnival. The first jam and Tehno Sede (I’m Thirsty) were warm ups, the latter a Portuguese song sang by Ivonne Elliman. The first 3 tracks on Disc Two feature Bob Dylan, the session started late on the 30^th of March and continued all through the night with Dylan appearing at 8 o’clock in the morning. Adios Mi Corazon is actually a sentence from Spanish Is The Loving Tongue. On Steppin’ Out Clapton plays dobro with Levon Help on vocals while Richard Manuel sings on What Would I Do, this us an extra-long version that clocks in at 22.14 minutes, first time I hear this long version. On Disc Three Track 7 comes from the Dylan session. From the 4^th track the session involve Clapton’s band as well as members of the Band, Ron Wood, Van Morrison and Billy Preston who is featured on Right Now and sings on Tried To Make The Devil Mad. Van Morrison sings on Who Do Tou Love and Won’t Somebody Tell Me features Clapton on vocals and on the first guitar solo, while the second is from Robbie Robertson and the third by George Terry. On It’s Eric’s Birthday Ron Wood plays on the right channel with Preston on piano like on Hard Times, a Ray Charles cover sang by Rick Danko. Big River, the Johnny Cash song, actually comes from the Dylan session from 30 March and the latter can be heard on vocals duetting with Clapton, while on Stormy Monday it’s Van Morrison to sing. Also interesting are the in between songs dialogues from which it is easy to ascertain the respect Billy Preston had from all the other musicians.
