The review

Eric Clapton concerts at London s Hammersmith Odeon were released by Tarantura in Japan as LZ Was Here 2 cds (4 Dec), Back in Every Crowd Tour (ECJP), LZ Was Where 4 cds (both shows) and in 2003 released also by Smile as E.Clapton Was Everywhere 4 cds. All these being rather limited quantities and high prices releases hard to find, in 2008 came the cdr label Sound Mate that presents the concert in this rather lavish form. The recording is a soundboard that has received the 24 bit re-mastering job from the original tapes; the show starts with a bit of an anti climax acoustic version of Nat King Cole's "Smile" (music by Charlie Chaplin) but then Clapton steps in and the concert gains momentum. Set list includes many songs from his solo albums, Blind Faith and blues standards; contrary to some sites there was not a guest spot by Ronnie Wood on "Steady Rolling Man", the Faces were playing at Taunton on the same date.
