This release presents the very first show of the 2024 US Tour from Houston in late April from Empress Valley. The sound output is great with all the instruments clearly heard and the audience at times quite prominent; the band plays well enough for being the first date of the tour, but Out of Time seems not to have been recognized by the audience. However, the new songs seem to have been liked by the audience but at times they are played a bit differently from the studio versions; for instance, Angry has a middle section with room for possible audience interactions. This is also the first tour featuring Chanel Haynes as background vocalist replacing Sasha Allen as it happened in Milan in 2023, we can say that her performances on Gimme Shelter and Sweet Sounds of Heaven are top notch, her vocal parts seem more natural and with less strain, certainly more effective. Keith sings just one song in this concert and in the following ones, reaching a standard of 3 at tour’s end, rumours say he got Covid early on. His guitar playing is however very good since this very first concert as this recording proves.
