This project was created to commemorate the passing of Brian Jones in the night of July 2 to July 3, 1969.

This 1967 European tour was the last one he participated in, the line-up consisted of: Mick Jagger on vocals and tambourine, Keith Richards on guitar and backing vocals, Brian Jones on guitar, dulcimer on Lady Jane, recorder on Ruby Tuesday, organ on Let's Spend The Night Together, harmonica on Goin' Home), Bill Wyman on bass and backing vocals and Charlie Watts on drums. Aside from the Paris show, the other shows from the 1967 tour are of mediocre quality.Nevertheless, they remain extraordinary documents of this remarkable period.

For the Vienna show, two sources are circulating:

The first, of slightly better quality, stops midway through Goin’ Home. It has been called source #1. It can be found on Groovin’ Around (VGP 074) and Teague Raw presented a version of it a few years ago.

The second source can be found on Complete Vienna 1967 and Vintage Vienna. Both sources are also featured on Both Wien Tapes 1967 and a merged version, 2nd Vienna, was already offered a few years ago by Funkydrummer.

In particular on Part I we get source #1 upgraded.

First here is Teague Raw’s version slightly upgraded (de-clicked, phase adjusted, some flaws fixed); the same speed has been kept except for Goin’ Home which was running too slow on which was used the one from Both Vienna Tapes (accelerated by +3,15%). On The Last Time the intro was shortened, micro-gaps fixed at 0’53, 1’18, 1’28, 2’59 & 3’03. On Paint It Black

a few firecrackers and whistles were toned down; on Lady Jane some micro-gaps fixed at 3’05 and 3’29. On Get Off Of My Cloud-Yesterday's Papers some micro-gaps fixed at 3’30, 3’34 and 4’40. On Ruby Tuesday a micro-gap was fixed at 3’57, Goin' Home fades out.

Part II is a merge from 2 sources: Except for the two last tracks, here we get a merged version from Teague Raw with Complete Vienna 1967 slowed down by -3,15%,

The Intro comes solely from Complete Vienna, on Lady Jane the first 8 seconds and the last 2 seconds come from Complete Vienna, on Get Off Of My Cloud-Yesterday's Papers the last 18 seconds come from Complete Vienna, on Goin' Home

the first 20 seconds come from Complete Vienna. In the first source the recording is incomplete, so only the first part of the song is merged with Teague Raw’s version but from 3’35 onward is a different merge (between Groovin’ Around and Complete Vienna). Satisfaction is a merge between VGP 274 and Complete Vienna.

Part III is a merge with a TV report: in early April of this year the Austrian TV (ORF) broadcasted an extract from the show that is offered here merged with the first source. This TV report seems to run too fast so it has been decelerated by -4% to synchronize it with the 1^st version. Get Off Of My Cloud fades out.
