This show is the most know and best sounding recording from this
tour and it has been used as reference. It was broadcasted on April 16, 1967 by
French radio ‘Europe 1’ in their program 'Musicorama' (version #1).
Subsequently it appeared on lots of bootlegs, in particular on Fucking And
Sucking (DAC 190).
In the Seventies, 6
tracks were re-broadcasted in AM quality, they appeared on Ready Steady Stones
(VGP 248)
(called here version #2).
In the Nineties five tracks were re-broadcast in FM quality (here
version #3); they appeared on A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss (VGP 101)
with comments from a
well-known French actor: Jean-Claude Brialy. So, on
Part
I we get a merge between VGP/DAC and Teague Raw:
The result that pleased the most was to merge version
#3 from VGP 101 or version #1 from DAC 190 with version #1 proposed by Teague
Raw (TR) several years ago (used as speed reference).
In particular Paint It Black is a
merge:
A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss (version #3)
with TR (version #1) except for the first 17 seconds and the last second coming
solely from TR.
19th Nervous Breakdown is a merge
between DAC 190 (version #1) with TR (version #1).
Lady Jane is a
merge between
Fucking
And Sucking (version #1) and TR (version #1).
Get
Off Of My Cloud-Yesterday's Papers is a
Merge
between
Fucking And Sucking (version #1) and
TR (version #1).
Under My Thumb is a merge
between
A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss (version
#3) and TR (version #1).
Ruby Tuesday is a merge
of
A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss (version
#3) with TR (version #1).
Let's Spend The Night
Together is a merge of
A Rolling Stone Gathers
No Moss (version #3) with TR (version #1).
Goin'
Home is a merge:
Fucking And Sucking (version
#1) with TR (version #1) and
Satisfaction is a merge:
A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss (version #3)
with TR (version #1) except after 2’30 which comie solely from TR.
On Part II we have alternate
merges of
Ready Steady
Stones
with Teague Raw. Source #3 was
saturated, so this is why is offerered another version using source #2 which also
combines nicely with source #1.
19th Nervous Breakdown is a
merge:
TR (version #1) with
Ready Steady Stones
(source #2) except for the first 9 seconds and the last 5
seconds solely from TR. Lady Jane is a merge of TR (version #1) with
Ready Steady Stones
(source #2) except for the first 3 seconds coming solely from TR.
Note that has been kept the hosts’ intro and outro from source #2 to avoid
editing the song.
Get Off Of My Cloud-Yesterday's
Papers is a merge of TR (version #1) with
Ready Steady Stones
(source
#2) except for the first 2 seconds and the last 6 seconds coming solely from
source #2. Again, has been kept the hosts’ intro and outro from source #2 to
avoid editing the song.
Ruby Tuesday is a merge
of TR (version #1) with
Ready Steady Stones
(source #2) except for the first 10 seconds and the last second
coming solely from TR. In source #2 a flaw at 2’40 has been fixed.
Goin' Home is a merge of TR (version #1) with VGP
248 (version #2).
Satisfaction is a merge of
TR (version #1) with
Ready Steady Stones
(version #2).
