REVIEW:

This is Mayflower version of the Undercover sessions; you may think this is the umpteenth version of the same stuff, but it must be said that Mayflower has the merit of presenting lowest generation takes that of course sound better. In this case here are outtakes in great stereo sound, even those like the first She Was Hot and Wanna Hold You attempts that have always sounded muddy. Now in case of the last two mentioned songs there is not wide stereo separation, but listen to the beginning of She Was Hot#1 and you can really hear the guitar only on one channel with dead air on the other, while Wanna Hold You presents guitar solos on one channel only; Undercover Of The Night#1 is in the best heard shape, nowhere as muddy as all other versions. Disc Two does not open with Feel On Baby which is not here, but with 2 Too Much Blood versions, followed by 3 versions od Pretty Beat Up for some reason version #2 featured twice. More mishap on Disc Three with confusion in the many Can t Find Love versions (see sources). Disc Four presents well known outtakes in great stereo, except for the pointless inclusion of Cooking Up #4 a.k.a What I Am Saying Is True but this time in stereo. So what can we say about this release? It does have some remarkable good sounding versions, although being marred by incomprehensible duplications and omissions (Feel On Baby), therefore more care is needed to be appreciated as a worthwhile purchase.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
