REVIEW:

Mid Valley is an Empress Valley division that is specialized in Eric Clapton releases that in 2003  released two shows the Stones did in 1989 both with Eric Clapton as guest: Champagne & Sex (MV 185-186), a two disc set that had the Stones Los Angeles Coliseum October concert and then Cocaine & Kiss ( MV 187-189), a three cds set with Atlantic City from December. Maybe the sets didn't sell out so the label packed them in a larger container called Nineteen since both shows happened on that day of each month, adding as a bonus a single cd that hold just two tracks. Now   Mid Valley has repackaged the single CD issuing it with new art cover that still promotes the Nineteen set on the back. Front cover has the famous Annie Leibovitz Keith Richards shot that was used for many items including magazines and book covers, bootleg and promo records. Content os the cd are two tracks again recorded by the Stones with Clapton: the famous version of "Brown Sugar" with Eric Clapton on lead guitar that was recorded during Keith Richards birthday jam session at London's Olympic Studios in 1969 and "Carnival To Rio", one take of many the Stones and Clapton backing group played on in late June 1975 during the famous week when both Richards and Wood stayed up for 5 consecutive days and  nights with the Stones playing Madison Square Gardens in New York, jamming with Clapton in the studio late at night. The song came out officially on No Reason To Cry album although none of the 10 takes recorded was used for contractual reasons. Two versions of the song are here presented, the first one is a 7.5 minute rock jam while the second one is a samba version that lasts 7.02 minutes.
