The review

This release presents the first of two shows the Stones had in East Rutherford for their 2024 US Tour from Mayflower. The setlist has many songs inspired by New York (Shattered, Honky Tonk Women, Miss You) and the sound output is good but in mono, the impression being that it is the video soundtrack; the band plays well with Keith on 2 solo songs.

The video is very stable and shows clean, close footage of all band members from multicam sources in high definition. There are some interesting things to notice, Jagger playing guitar at the end of Angry and spitting on stage on It’s Only Rock’n Roll. On You Can’t Always Get What You Want we get a glimpse of Chanel Haynes, till then hidden behind a plexiglas partition. Missing footage at the start of You Got The Silver, Sympathy For The Devil and Sweet Sounds Of Heaven, but just seconds, replaced by stills. There are some nice solos by Keith especially on Sympathy; both him and Darryl Jones having lost some weight with the latter now the bass player that had lasted longer in Stones history. Gimme Shelter is performed greatly with Chanel Haynes at her best also on Sweet Sounds of Heaven, I believe it is the first time a new song is used as encore, but it is different from the version with Lady Gaga, lacking the high pitch confrontation in the middle. Finally on Jumpin’ Jack Flash we see also some screen footage.
