The review

This newly released 4LP box features outtakes from the Stones Some Girls sessions; LP 1, Side A starts with It’s All Wrong followed by a long version (10.05 m.) of When The Whip Comes Down and the slower take of Claudine, Side B has Jimmy Reed’s You Don’t Have To Go, Everlasting Is My Love with falsetto vocals and count-in then the instrumental Brown Leaves and Miss You 3, without sax and harmonica. LP 2 Side C begins with the early version of Black Limousine with an unusual intro and of What Gives You The Right with pedal steel then the second take of Hang Fire with early lyrics and an instrumental Blues Jam. Side D presents Every Time I Break Your Heart that sounds like Faraway Eyes followed by Never Let Her Go and a rough version of   It Won’t Be Long and the short instrumental first take of Miss You. LP 3, Side E begins with Just My Imagination with many improvised lyrics that starts with falsetto vocals followed by Don’t Be A Stranger which is also known as Do You Get Enough; then A Different Kind and Summer Romance early lyrics. Side F starts with the first take of Some Girls lacking harmonica and guitar overdubs, then Beast Of Burden with 3 guitars and falsetto vocals. The Way She Held Me Tight also known as Misty Roads follows with Before They Make Me Run early lyrics and long fade out version that ends this side. LP 4 Side G starts with Guess I Should Know followed by a blues instrumental called Armpit Blues, the 3rd take of Lies with very early lyrics and 3 guitars, the 4th take of I Love Tou Too Much with backing vocals and You Win Again with redone vocals. Side H starts with Fiji Jim new mix, then the early version of Respectable with count in, Never Make You Cry with Jagger announcing chord changes, After Hour Blues an instrumental outtake and the 3rd version of Munich Hilton with 3 guitars and fading in and out.

Packaging is superb with 4 great looking vinyl LPs, however liner notes contain wrong information, since no session was ever held in Paris during December 9-16 1977.
