REVIEW:

This recent release from SODD presents once again  the Stones' Sticky Fingers alternate songs, Disc One featuring tracks in the same order they appear on the official album, followed by some well known songs that have nothing to do with the album or the sessions they were originated from ("Cocksucker Blues" or "Satisfaction" live from Madison Square Garden in 1969 off the newly released expanded version of Get Yer Yas Ya s Out, let alone "Silver Train" or "All Down the Line"). But there are some interesting things as well, like the opening version of "Brown Sugar" with Jagger mumbling the words and shouting at the end. The second disc presents other alternate versions, notably mono or different mixes (no overdubs on "Sway" and "Wild Horses" which is probably one of the best Jagger vocal performances) together 4 instrumental outtakes we know from many years as the Trident Demos. The version of "Wild Horses" credited to be coming from a rehearsal with Richards and Taylor is a fake that was done in Germany many years ago though. Packaging is good with great photos and color picture discs, however there are some strange notes in the Track Listings, as in "Cocksucker Blues" which is said to be originating from the mid-seventies (actually recorded in March 1970) or "Satisfaction" which is called a rare live outtake (commercially released in the Ya Ya's box some months ago).

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
