REVIEW: |
This new release from Mid
Valley is called a rare collection of gems from 1970 to 1974! This group of
masterpieces is composed of rare versions, and includes the original mix
version of Fingerprint File with correct pitch, mono mixes, different mixes,
unreleased songs, different takes, etc. is insanely cool! Enjoy this best back
album! The jacket is also a super cool Keith cover. Amazingly the title is the
same as a vinyl bootleg that came out awhile ago by Casino Records that presented
tracks from Charlotte
72 live. The first 2 tracks are the mono mixes of Brown Sugar and Bitch which
present an even more compact sound than the usual stereo versions, followed by
an alternate mix of Dead Flowers the Little Lucy version. The first unreleased
song follows and that is Criss Cross Man (a.k.a. Save Me) probably coming from
the soundtrack of Japan film Metamorphosis (US version only) , then we get the
radio mix of Plundered My Soul and 3 alternate takes of Loving Cup, Silver
Train and 100 Years Ago.3 alternate mixes come: Winter, Ain t Too Proud To Beg,
If You Can t Rock Me and Till The Next Goodbye with much lower mixed drums. The
second unreleased song, Drift Away, a Mentor Williams cover comes next followed
by Dance Little Sister which is an alternate mixed longer version; then another
alternate mix, Fingerprint File, this time with pitch adjusted, from the Japan
IORR SACD version, the compilation ends with the long version of Time Waits For
No One, cover says taken from a 12â€
referring to the UK only 1979 compilation of the same name, but most likely
again from the Japan SACD version which featured a longer fade, in total lasting 6.45. What is amazing
here is the sound output consistency that makes this album a pleasure to listen
time after time. Packaging is great too with a fantastic Keith front cover and
tasty picture disc shot.
