REVIEW:

Volume 3 of this series dedicated to Mick Taylor’s shows with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in the Spring of 1982 brings us to Detroit, this recording was already worked some years ago in 2016 with the biggest problems with the recording that were:
- the tape ran much too fast! After comparison with the official 1982 cd it was decided to use a deceleration of -5%
- after track n° 2 the sound was very high and saturated; to make it a little more comfortable some filters ere used (-15% treble on track 3 and for the others +15% bass and -15% treble): the result is that it don’t sound so aggressive anymore.
- on Disc 2 the first track was cut in 4 parts with gaps between them: it has been tried to rebuild the complete song but the gaps are still noticeable at 2’58, 3’30 & 4’20 and there are other little gaps in the song….
Room To Move was also cut in two parts: the song has been redone but the gap can still be heard at 1’20. 2 minutes of crowd noise and talking at the end of the show have been deleted and the beginnings/ends of the discs improved. This time the work has been to improve the lot, phasing it, rebalancing channels (+30% for the left channel) and amplifying the volume. This is a nice recording and the show one of the best ones.
