REVIEW:

This concert has been poorly documented so far, coming out just in 2 cdr releases: Basle ’82 (missing Tumbling Dice) and St. Jakob’s Basel 15 July 1982 that was complete. In this concert there were as additional musicians Ian Stewart on piano, Chuck Leavell on keyboards, Gene Barge and Bobby Keys on sax.

The release presents a merge between 2 different sources with few excerpts from the 1st one: the newly discovered recording (source #3) is on the left channel and was used as template for speed; source #2, a complete version, is on the right channel and had to be accelerated by around 2,3%; source #1 was coming from the very first cdr release and was incomplete, not used here. There were lots of micro-gaps or speed variations so the merging was done in 30 seconds segments. In particular on Disc One The Intro & Under My Thumb have been merged, the first 10 seconds come solely from source #2 and a gap, in the version #2, is compensated at 4’10. On Let’s Spend The Night Together a gap in source #2 is filled at 1’18, on Just My Imagination The last 24 seconds solely come from source #2. On Twenty Flight Rock the first 4 seconds solely come from source #2. On Going To A Go-Go in the banter a 0,5 second gap from source #3 has been corrected and a fade in/out added because of a short gap in both sources. On Time Is On My Side there is an except from 1’49 to 1’59 solely coming from source #3.

On Disc Two on Angie except for the last 20 seconds solely comes from source #3; on Tumbling Dice in the banter a 2 second repetition coming from source #2 has been deleted; on Honky Tonk Women a short repetition from source #2 was edited; Start Me Up was merged except from 4’50 until 4’55 which solely come from source #2, while Jumping Jack Flash in both versions were identical (coming from the same source). The Encore Break comes solely come from source #3.

Satisfaction was merged from source #2 that had to be decelerated by -5,75%, while the Fireworks

came solely from source #2 decelerated by -5,75%.
