| REVIEW: |
This
release presents the second Stones Bern 73 concert from the 26th of
September. There are 2 sources for this concert, one by William Tell, the other
by Robert RMB. It was released at first on tape on The Lost Bern Show (SWP 533)
copied on cdr on The Lost Bern Show (Stoneware Product SWP 500) featuring just
6 tracks but with wrong date, then in 2011 came out another cdr called Bern 73
2nd Show, soon after followed by Last Dance in Bern 1973 (William
Tell 023). After that it was issued in Japan Stranded (Dasuje); another title issued
in Japan was Bern 1973 (YT 001). Two years later came Swiss Made Vol. (DAC 129)
in mono and Before The Affair (Godfather 845) in stereo, overproduced, soon
followed by Bern 1973 2nd Nigh Second Show (No Label) with pitch
corrected offered together with a factory pressed cdr called Bern 73 Low Master
that was a mix of both sources. Lately Exile Records released a cdr called
Dancing, Tumbling, Jumping (EXCDR117301. This is a nice recording, on all previous
recordings beginning sounded distorted with the drums barely audible, but here Jagger
vocals and Taylor’s guitar are quite clear with mid-range frequencies sounding
very nice. Here the intro comes from a different source for 18 seconds, phase
correction of sound dropouts applied. Low and middle frequencies have been adjusted,
previously some clapping were removed leaving a somehow floating sound; Midnight
Rambler was cut and the missing part comes from a different source around 5.24.
The sound is very good, an improvement over previous versions, nice artwork
too.
