| REVIEW: |
Several years ago already there has been a reworked version of this show,
including Start Me Up and You Got Me Rocking in soundboard version (Muy
Caliente En Madrid – FP 004). Recently, were discovered some videos from
Spanish television reports and from audience (clips).
Here are the soundtracks
used for the video. For the sound have been merged the videos soundtracks with
the ones from the FP 004 version. It has been an interesting but very
time-consuming process.
In the last
tracks of the video soundtrack there were lots of micro-gaps (usually 40 or
50ms in length). They have been compensated using patches of the same length. There
was no transition between the tracks, so it was chosen to add short fade ins
and outs between them instead (duration: 0,5sec).
To supplement the tracks when there were
missing passages of less than 30 seconds have been used patches coming only
from the audio source.
In
particular the Intro, Don’t Stop, The Walk To The B Stage were all
in
one segment, Brown Suar was
cut in 3 segments completed by a 17 second
audio patch at the end. Start Me Up was cut in 7 segments completed by a 4
second audio patch in the beginning of the song. You Got Me Rocking was cut in
2 segments and has been completed with 2 second audio patch. Of You Can’t Always
Get Wath You Want there were only 33 seconds in 2 segments separated after 0’22;
on Midnight Rambler there was only a 10 second snippet coming solely from the
video (+20% for the left channel). On Sympathy For The Devil the beginning has
been completed with a 22 second patch. For Mannish Boy was used only the audio
source as the crowd noises and voices were much too prominent in the video. Like
A Rolling Stone was in 2 segments. For Back from B-stage & first seconds of
Gimme Shelter was used only the audio source. On Honky Tonk Women 3 seconds at
the end have been added to complete the song, while on Satisfaction were added 6
seconds in the beginning to have the complete song. On Jumpin’ Jack Flash there
were 5 micro-gaps that have been compensated; this was a puzzle because the
audio version also has some cuts, so here are the detail of the 13 segments
inlay: from 0’00 until 0’35: audio, until 0’49: merged, until 1’03: audio,
until 1’30: merged, until 1’48: audio, until 2’17: merged, until 2’21: audio,
until 3’15: merged, until 3’46: audio, until 4’26: merged, until 5’18: audio,
until 5’24: video and until the end: merged. On The final bow and Fireworks 5
micro-gaps have been compensated, coming solely from the video. This s for
completists only, due to the fact that almost all tracks are truncated and/or
cut.
