| REVIEW: |
Once more
tracks coming from the Stones Paris sessions which have been among the most
productive in the Stones career, especially the first ones held at the end of
1977 and at the beginning of 1978 which originated Some Girls, the album of the
band’s return to basic rock with some attempts to other musical genres.
Disc One starts with A Different Kind and Never Make You Cry
followed by Fiji Jim, Jimmy Reed’s Shame Shame Shame, Never Stop which was the
first attempt at Start Me Up, Covered in Bruises, another version of Fiji Jim,
Some Girls and Just Because I Told You. Disc Two has 2 versions of Just My
Imagination, You Win Again sung by Mick, Miss zyou early instrumentalpart and a
nice blues, Broken Head Blues. Next is the famous 1st version of It’s Only
Rockk’n Roll featuring David Bowie that has nothing to do here and an early take
of Start Me Up called Echo version that has a catchy nice back up chorus.
