Here is
the night show from Tokyo third day of Charlie
Watts Quintet, this again is a good quality recording that just needed the
usual some transitions to be rearranged and covers created.
For the back cover some pictures have been used
from the great Japanese fanzine Stone People (issue #60).
This is the only concert of the series that was
previously released on silver disc as Aoyama Concert (Empress Valley EVSD
CWJP91) in soundboard quality. Actually due to this being a soundboard
recording it is possible to listen better to Charlie Watts drumming which
drives the whole band with his subtle but effective timekeeping,at times using
brushes, but always able to provide the right fuel; setlist is the same for all
shows and the band after 5 concerts playing the same tuned has acquired great confidence
and so this is probably the best gig of the series.
