This release presents a recording of John Mayall s Bluesbreakers that had been missing so far in collectors circlers and just popped up online, too bad the recording (recorded on a Phonola mono recorder) has been made available only as mp3, but the rarity of the concert justifies its review. This was the end of the Bluesbreakers Italian tour at the end of 1982, the location is in Piedmont (Northern Italy) and the band has its classic line up featuring John Mayall on vocal, keyboards and harmonica, Mick Taylor on guitar, Colin Allen on drums with the inclusion of Steve Thompson on bass instead of John McVie. The recording is nice, with Taylor s guitar upfront, but the fact that the recording has been provided in mp3 has somehow an impact on its enjoyment, packaging is good, however the back cover lacks the proper sides and it is thus quite insufficient, since if you stack the cd jewel case you won t be able to distinguish amongst other ones.
