The review
This release presents a new version of John Mayall s Bluesbreakers concert in Rome that was posted by Kingrue on The Traders Den. This version comes from the same tape but with a better sound; it was found to be running too slow (-8,475%) this explaining why the tonality/key was wrong of about half a tone. So here the speed has been corrected as well as the transitions between the tracks, now each track begins with a song; there was a fade in/out before the encore and a little gap between Sitting Here Alone and The Dark Side Of Midnight and this explains why there is separation between the two discs, however no music has been lost. It is worth remembering that from this concert Sitting Here Alone was officially released on Rolling With The Blues (Shakedown Rec. Shakebx 116Z) in 2011 and on Howlin at the Moon (Secret Rec. SECCD 015) in 2013. Musically speaking Taylor really shines here with his playing, being in great shape; the sound of this recording is excellent, packaging nice so this is a valuable release..
